The Creature In Black

Design By Humans had a Halloween contest going on, and because of work I had very little time to focus on a theme. Screw it! The Creature from the Black Lagoon must drawn! I thought it would be tight to add a little humor to it, so I put him in a Johnny Cash pose. Oh well, maybe I'll just submit it as a regular entry.

While I was working...

Being easily distracted from work can bring out such interesting drawings. This, being Vlad the Impaler. I think I want to do a series of this guy and other monsters for the month of October.

Was ist das?

One of the many sketches I was working on for a local bar's new pizza service. This guy is the bar's icon. It was hard in the beginning, but you have to keep drawing someone's character until you know how to do it without looking at any reference. More to come.

My mistake. 4 Coffins...

Lunch break. I'm not too good at posting on time... yet.

I still want to get to that Human Frog though and finish it up. I think it'd be pretty sweet. Maybe give it the Wacom treatment. I'm still learning how to use that thing.

Heard some Ennio Morricone the other day, so you know I had to pump out the Man With No Name. Clint's the best. He'll still kick your ass to this very day. Thanks to my boss Jeff for the caption.

Now they can enjoy the satisfaction of chewing.

I remember a couple years back that someone caught a fish with human teeth, and I thought, "How freaking messed up is that?!"

That said, I decided to speed up evolution and give a sneak peek into the world of amphibians. Frogs rule. Especially ones with molars.

Blue dogs

For some reason, I always work with a non-photo blue pencil. I don't know if it's the cleanliness or the blue, but I always end up getting better results.

It starts.

This will hopefully be a constant blog of drawings that I do at work, home, on paper, napkins, peoples' faces. Enjoy.
